A Students Chance at Success Compared to Privileged Students Low-income schools affects a students’ education highly because they receive a more lousy education compared to school that have more money. When I turned 12, my mom and I moved from LA to Inglewood because my mom could not pay the rent anymore. The middle school and high school around the Inglewood area were so different compared to the school I went in LA. The schools looked run down and old and the educational domain was not great for students that want to achieve good academic skills. In â€Å"I Just Wanna Be Average,† Mike Rose writes about how students that are not doing well, get placed in a vocational class, teachers are not well prepared to educate the students, and teachers do not know a way to engage students to learn. However in, â€Å"Aria: Memoir of a Bilingual childhood,† Richard Rodriguez writes about how he his teachers from his catholic school came to his house to talk to his parents b ecause he was not contributing in class, since he did not know English very well. This indicated that compared to Roses’ teachers, Rodriguez’s teachers wanted him to succeed and want him to engage in class. Furthermore, students or schools with low socio-economic background, have a harder time achieving good educational or social skills compared to schools with high socio-economic background.
